Part Une: There are Less Bugs Out Wandering in Winter
There was a fly in my room. My roommate brought a fly swatter that was hanging on the fridge for me, but the moment she brought it in the room, the fly was nowhere to be found.
I figured the fly went out the door into another room, but when I put the fly swatter back and returned to my room, it was still there, zooming around saying, "Haha, I tricked ya!"
After a few trips back and forth getting the fly swatter from the kitchen and putting it back, I finally succeeded in eliminating the pest. I think the body fell in the crack between my bed and the wall. Damn you, fly, why do you make my life more difficult?
I think I'll try wedging the vacuum cleaner hose between the bed and the wall tomorrow.
Part Deux: No Need to Put Leftovers in the Fridge Because Your House is the Same Temperature as the Fridge in Winter
I made nikujaga a few days ago, and when I left it out to cool, I forgot to put it in the fridge. For a day and a half.
When I realized this it was too late. I could see a layer of foam on the top of the nikujaga through the Tupperware. It was kind of interesting though, like a science experiment -- the onions and potatoes were fermenting before my eyes. All bubbly, like when you put vinegar into baking soda.
I stared at it for about 1.5 minutes, and then put it in a bag and threw it away.
.....Other than that, I don't miss the biting cold, frostbite, and having to wear 4 layers (or more) of clothing.
